A voice crying in the wilderness.

I read a word from someone else recently in a passing moment. She spoke about the prophetic action of cleaning your house and how many prophetic people felt the need to clean house and I mean throw out things that had served their purpose, things that needed to be moved on from, a deep clean of their homes now at the beginning of January.

I felt a little giggle rising in my spirit. We did the same thing. My husband and I have not had the chance to properly sort through everything in our house since he moved in after we got married. We tried this past December but felt that we needed the rest more. When January came it was like there was this sudden grace to do it. The timing was just right. What should've taken us at least a week to do, we did in a few days. We realised we are in a season of suddenlies and when the moment comes, we need to be ready and simply do what God tells us to do. God is cleaning His house.

There is a reason why we are seeing the private sins of many leaders who have large spheres of influence being exposed in this season. It is the grace of God. Let me say that again, IT IS THE GRACE OF GOD. God is cleaning His house in a way that feels new and fresh to me. He is concerned with His bride. He is concerned with His plans for His bride. Our feet are being washed in this season by the one whose sandal strap we are not worthy to untie.

I once read a quote that says "What you eat in private you wear in public". I believe we are starting to see that more than ever in the church at the moment. How you live your life in private is bound to show in public at one point or the other. I am calling what is happening to these leaders grace because God is giving them the chance to repent and return to their first love and to walk in humility. We are also being reminded that people are just people and honouring our leaders and putting them on an untouchable pedestal are two different things.

The season for man-made ministry is over. Ministry that does not serve the Lord but the ambition of those who desire leadership without being a follower, those who seek fame from people rather than to be known by God, and those who hide the truth behind greenroom walls instead of walking humbly in the light is over. The season of the Pharisee is over.

We need to understand that the things of the past He has shown us to let go of, we need to leave behind. This builds on my previous post about how He wants to do a new thing. God is not a respecter of person, He wants all of us to leave behind the things of the past. Things we have held unto from our old lives before Him.

Our addictions, our selfish ambitions, our hunger for everything except Him, our need for affirmation from others, and our blindness to what He is clearly showing us. It is time to let it go.

The words from John the Baptist as he quotes the prophet Isaiah have stuck with me for the past few weeks. He said he is a voice crying in the wilderness, prepare the way for the Lord!

(John 1:23 quoting Isaiah 40:3)

This message is to those who have faced the wilderness intensely this past season. You have been equipped to see and to cry "Prepare the way of the Lord!"

When moving out of the wilderness, Israel went through the Jordan. A symbol for baptism. John the Baptist baptised with water, but Jesus came to baptise with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Allow Him to cleanse you this season, whether by fire or by water, but allow Him. Don't stand back. Don't turn around. Don't stay on the other side of the Jordan and miss the promised land He has for you.

Keep your eyes focused on Him. No matter what happens this year. No matter what you face, let go of the past and cling to One. Keep your eyes off people and turn to see Him.

Prepare the way for the Lord! He is coming. Don't miss what He does because you think the past is better and safer than the future, it is not. It is not how God works. He will always move us from glory to glory. The best is yet to come!

Blessings, Yolandi.
